Insurance Information
TYFA's Medical Insurance is classified as Secondary Medical Insurance. A Referee's primary insurance must be used for all expenses first. Secondary Medical Insurance is considered primary only if a Referee does not have their own insurance.
TYFA Medical insurance covers the 12-month period of September 15 thru September 14.
A claim must be made within 90 days of the injury.
Payable for charges within the 52 weeks after the injury.
Referee Policy
Accident Medical Expense Benefit: $100,000
Accidental Death or Dismemberment Benefit: $25,000
Dental Benefit per tooth: NA
Has NO deductible.
TYFA makes Medical Insurance available to Referees every July for $5.
If a Referee is an active TYFA Referee they qualify.
A Referee Scheduler must apply for all of their Referees who are interested.
If you the Referee is PHYSICALLY HURT while refereeing an official TYFA event, you may attempt to make a claim. Please remember TYFA's insurance is a Secondary Insurance; not a Primary unless a you the Referee do not have insurance of your own.

If it is the spring season, contact TYFA to look it up from the previous fall.
Are you attempting a claim within 90 days of the injury?
In either case if the answer to the question is No, you cannot claim.
If the answer is Yes, continue.
If the answer to all the questions above is YES:

TYFA will review and sign the document.
TYFA will email it to AIG along with a copy to the Referee.
Once the Referee receives the copy from TYFA, they should wait a minimum of 5 business days and then contact the insurance company to set up the Claim Number.
